Good description of when Cherryfall is falling while hunting in a tree."Yowling in terror, she fell, her body twisting in the air. She managed to snag the bulky wood with one claw before she plummeted to the ground." (86)
The author used humor, when she fell she said "Oof-all the breath's knocked out of me! (87)

The author uses suspense in knowing if they have to leave. "Do you think we need to leave the hollow?" (98)
Bramblestar is determined in the darkest of times to lead his clanmates. "'We can't shelter under this tree forever.' Bramblestar announced." (129).
Lilypaw is smart. "'But for StarClan's sake, don't let him know that you're watching him. Lilypaw nodded, looking thoughtful. "'I know! We'll ask him to help us." (130)
There is some humor. "Even in his weary state, Bramblestar had to stifle a mrrow of amusement to think that their desperate struggle for safety had already become a thrilling story for Purdy to tell." (134)
Daisy is annoyed with the apprentices because they were messing up the moss she was using for the nests."'You ungrateful little furball!' hissed. 'If you're so miserable here, feel free to go back and sleep in your den!'" (146)
Bramblestar is a kind and helpful cat. He was willing to "...go right up to a Twoleg den that might be full of Twolegs, and risk falling into the flood, all for a cat that we haven't even set eyes on." (166)
I think Dovewing doesn't love Bumblestripe as much as he loves her. "'I can't wait for us to have our own kits,' Bumblestripe went on. 'I know you'll be a great mother.' To Bramblestar's surprise, Dovewing stepped away from her mate." (199)
Jessy is very brave and not afraid to speak her mind. "'What would you know about it, flea-pelt?' the kittypet hissed." (226)
Theories and Conclusions
Trust is the glue that holds a relationship together. Trust is very strong and you have to earn it. Bramblestar has to trust clanmates in order to have an efficiently working clan. He is the leader and his cats must listen to him. “‘No cat will attack any of the clans.’ Bramblestar warned.” (27) Bramblestar has to trust that his clanmates will not attack the other clans behind his back, otherwise it would cause a lot of problems. Every cat in the clan has to trust that their leader is doing the right thing. When a storm comes and sweeps up the camp, they have to find a temporary one. “‘We can’t shelter under this tree forever,’ Bramblestar announced. ‘We need to find somewhere to make a temporary camp.’” (129). His clanmates believe that he is doing the right thing by finding a temporary space to live.
Every cat has to trust that the deputy is dividing the prey evenly. They are assured that because if not every cat would not eat the same amount. “‘Squirrelflight, can you take charge of doling it out?’ … Squirrelflight nodded and set about efficiently dividing up the cats, while Brightheart helped carry each share to their clanmates.” (187-188).
The other cats in the forest that don’t belong to a clan have to be assured that the clans will help them or not bother them. Minty is a kittypet (housecat) and when her owner’s house got flooded, she had to be rescued. “The black-and-white she-cat was peering anxiously over the side. ‘Please hurry!’ she wailed. ‘The tub is sinking!’” (174). The clan cats are willing to go save a cat they haven’t even seen yet.
Even the leader has to rely on some other cat once in a while. When Bramblestar was taking Daisy to see her old friends by the “horseplace”, Bramblestar was afraid of the horses but Daisy reassured him. “He crouched down with his tail curled around him, waiting for one of the huge feet to land on him and crush his bones as it stamped him into the ground. ‘It’s okay,’ Daisy meowed. ‘Even I can run faster than them. Come this way.’ Bramblestar rose to his paws and gave his pelt a shake, feeling hot with embarrassment.” (65). Bramblestar relied that Daisy was telling the truth and he was not going to get crushed.
All clanmates have to be loyal to each other. When Minty was trapped and Bramblestar and a couple of clanmates need to rescue her, they had to try something tricky. “‘Thornclaw,’ he continues, ‘I think your idea could work, but it’s going to be tricky. Maybe you and I should try it alone.’ ‘No way!’ Dovewind exclaimed. Graystripe lashed his tail. ‘Forget it, Bramblestar. We’re coming with you.” (168). It could be dangerous but his clanmates have been sworn to loyalty no matter what.
The cats should listen to the clan leader who thinks that he is doing something that is safe as well as beneficial. When they need dry bedding, Bramblestar the leader is willing to risk his life to get his clanmates some. “Squirrelflight snorted. ‘Being Clan leader isn’t about being the bravest, you mouse-brained idiot.’ Bramblestar dug his claws into the wet ground. ‘I’m going,’ he insisted stubbornly. I can’t ask my clanmates to do something that I wouldn’t do myself. Come on, the sooner we go, the sooner we’ll be back.’” (220). He thinks that he should prove it so then the cats will go with him. The whole clan is held upon every cat not doubting each other.
