I think it's really rude that the new teacher would talk bad about Cammie's father that is dead. He may be in a spy school where people hide their feelings, but being sympathetic is a must everywhere (20).
Macey's attitude is very negative and she doesn't deserve to go to a school as good as Gallagher Academy if she is going to not play by the rules or do harmful things.
It's nerve-racking to have someone just send you to a mission without your permission for the first time when you have to spy on your old teacher (also the greatest spy in the world!) (67).
It turns out that Cammie was the one who accomplished her mission first by being unnoticed instead of her friends who are geniuses and good actors. I guess the most important thing in spying is blending in and being unnoticed like a chameleon (77).
This was one of the first times where Cammie was in the real world with noise and anonymous faces and it's said that she has to go back tp her reality that isn't even the real world, but a spy world (85).
I don't think it was nice how Mr. Solomon tricked Cassie into thinking her friends were dead because Cassie's father is already dead, plus she's only seventeen, why is he moving her school level at such a fast pace, no one that age is ready for tragedy (87).
Why did Josh make believe he didn't know Cammie in front of some guy he knows? Maybe that person he knows is someone who tells everyone everything? (114).
It's cool that while Cassie was looking for Josh, he was looking for her at the same time ( 129).
I think Josh is slowly starting to realize that Cammie's a spy. He said, "You're not a normal girl aren't you?" (164).
I can't believe Cassie's mom is dancing with her CoveOps teacher! Especially when it's her dad's birthday! (204)
It's so sad that Josh is happy, playing with his mom in a bubble fight while Cammie is on a long mission and she never gets to see her mom who is acting strange and lonely (241).
I can't believe that Josh will find out that Cammie's a spy tonight! Or will he? (248).
Josh only thinks that Cammie is a rich private school snob but he is still trying to win her back. Cammie wants to move on but Josh is still trying to figure out who she really is (243).
Josh sees Cammie on a mission and tries to talk to her. I think that that's really risky and he very close to figuring out her identity (270).
I can't believe Cammie spilled everything to Josh! Except for the spy part. But will she ever? (273).
Commie does not live an ordinary life like most girls in realistic fiction do. I think this detail about her will make the book more interesting. One thing is that she goes to a school for spies which is not a normal public school like I go to (5)
Commie is mentioning how most of the girl's fathers are spies but she did not say anything about her own dad. Also instead of spending the summer with her dad she was at the ranch with her dad's parents . I wonder if something happened to Cammie's dad?
I think that they ideas and take on a secret school will make it way more fun to read rather than an ordinary school. 4
I wonder where bex is? If Gallagher girls are never late where is she?
Solomen is up to something with cams mom. i think he has a plan to undermine the kids and other teachers with his good looks. 21.
The new teacher Mr. Solomon seems like a different teacher even for spy school. I wonder what he is goals are for the girls. He is also seems like he knows everything like what happened to Cammie's father (21)
he has purposely mentioned cammies father during class. he has died when he was a soldier. he acts like it was his fault. 21
This is a spy school so they must have everything high tech and they do like the turning walls and picture frames but why do they turn everything around for code red. What is code red? (23)
The girl Macey Mchenry seems so snobby and nothing like a Gallepher girl. If she gets accepted then the school would totally change. And so will the plot. Will she get accepted? (32)
the senator and his family have arrived unannounced so there has been a code red where everything is reversed showing things a normal schools would have 23 and on
After Macey gets accepted the girls are not happy about it. Then they learn she is a descendant of Gallepher. (48)
Mr. Solomon planned a surprise for his class.I wonder what the surprise it is and will it be something the girls will enjoy? (53)
All the girls are going crazy for fashion advice from Macey where Mr.Solomon will be taking them because he told them not to wear uniforms. It seemed like the girls never lived girly life where they thought about things besides education. (59)
Do all sophomores have their own mission in that year or is it a new thing Mr. Solomon brought up for the first time? The girls got a mission where they had to find out what drink a 30 year experienced spy would be drinking with giving that out. Will they succeed? (67)
This is book is a mystery and a novel that needs very deep thinking. I recommended this book because it's funny and mysterious. There are many secrets hidden within this book.
Bex has begun to show macy around the school. she is smoking and refuses to stop when asked 33
Macy is being very obnoxious about their schools and the girls are teasing her in every way possible 35
Mr.solomon + Cammie`s mom= ?????? dating??????
Driving a car is such a big surprise to Cammie. I think its because shes always been inside the school and teaching driving is not part of spying or at least there kind of spying she has learned so far. I wonder how it will go? 93
When vex started driving the car she didn't even know which side to drive on. I think it's because she has not been outside in school a lot. 95
When Cammie's gets into the car she feels really happy like its her first time unlike having to sit in a car for girls in a normal public school is a dread. 96
When Cammie's saw Josh she bent down not to be seen. I think that this will be an important plot detail because josh keeps coming back and it seems like something will happen with him 97
Macy is a spoiled brat who has no appretiation for what she ha. she thinks she is better than everyone else. 47
Macy is new at school and she has decided to enroll after all. She has somewhat become accustomed to the school but not quite
When Cammie felt kind of bad for goinggb inside the house she stayed out but Liz and vex went right it 110
I think it's a little creepy how 3teenage girls have a connection into other people's emails and homes 109
Once again the boy came up in the book and when Cammie is trying to stoll him it shows that after all the lies she has given him about knowing about all the neighbors and such he will be reappearing more and more 112
I noticed that whenever the girls do an independent mission they write a summary of surveillance and the readers get a chance to read it 115
the three girls were sent on the mission of the century to go tail mr. smith who usually catches everyone. he caught liz and bex but not cammie and she stayed in the shadows. the mission was to find out what mr. smith drinks with his corn dog. they found that it was dr. pepper. mission accomplished. 68-77
cammie met a boy staring at her when she pulled the can from the trash now she is embarresed and confused. 79
I wonder why Madame Dabney doe snot press the emergency pedal after Bex has crashed into and drove over so much stuff which is not safe. 121
When Bex arrives at Josh's house I wonder if Bex drove like that purposely to appear their or if it was a coincidence? If it was by accident their has to some kind of plot twist involved that will be really exciting. I think she did it purposely because such a big coincendce would not happen and Bex wanted to know more about Josh. Also was Liz involved in the plan because she remained calm even in the crazy driving Bex has done which does not sound like Liz who is scared of so much. 123
cam met the boy , josh and forgot about her mission, she had gone back to the truck yet she had been too late and everyone had left 84
the guard had some significance at the head of the driveway. he knew so many things about her and her family, however she knew absolutely nothing about him 83 to 84
I think that Cammie will become closer with Macey and that all the four girls will get along together. 134
cammie is keeping josh a secret for now and letting only herself "read that chapter" for now 93
Cammie thinks of Josh unceasingly. She will never go another minute without the slightest notion of Josh in the back of her mind.140
cammie and her suite are taking drivers ed. bex is the first to drive.....wish them luck! 95
i made a text to text connection, the store piggly wiggly is in here and also in three times lucky
bex and liz have caught cammie and now know that she has met josh before 99
Macey started to be nice to the girls. Is Macey doing it from the heart or as an act to get something? 145
Cammie, Liz, and Bex figured out how to sneak out of their school building. The go to spy school so it has cameras everywhere and guards but Cammie still managed to sneak out. 146
When Cammie gives her summary of surveillance I noticed she uses The Subject instead of her name. I wonder if it is for secret reasons or just to sound professional. 149
The three girls are going to trail josh without anyone knowing, if they find nothing suspicious he will be let free. if they do find something they will keep him in the mission reports 102
They were in the CIA forensic lab, and they had finished and found nothing about him in the system. Now it was phase two - go to joshs house 106-107
I noticed that Cammie's idea of talking to Josh works and I like how the letters are typed in different font that looks like hand writing. This brings the book to life. 166
The girls are finally starting to bond with Macey. Macey and Liz translate the notes Josh leaves together. Now Cammie called Macey a genius even though Cammie knows the most about spying and she is really smart she is thankful for all the help Macey is giving her. 168
How is Josh going to feel and react to Cammie's answer that she can not come to the movies with him on Friday? Will Cammie finally tell him she goes to spy school? 167
they had infiltrated josh`s house and it seems that it is a picture perfect place, everything like it would be in magazine 109
josh is unproud of his home for some reason and he thinks his mom is lame for making pies and unveiling them specially they are planting trackers everywhere too 113
cammie, bex, and liz are submitting their mission report and it does include josh, but it says that he is not a honeypot 117
DeeDee finds and Cammie and Josh. I think this might be trouble because she also comes along with a couple of tough looking boys. Cammie is not used to a big crowd like this especially with boys. 179
solomon is making them dig through the garbage, ew. 118
cammie thinks of josh as a better version of one the boys in the movies. he is cute and kind unlike the movie boys. 126
they found that josh had collected all the church flyers he could find. he asked if she was home schooled and she answered yes for religious reasons. he is looking for her. 130
Macy has been informed of Josh and she agreed to give her insight in exchange for a pass straight out of the newbie classes 135
Mr. Solomens class is really informing cammie of the things she has to do in mission Josh...143
Cammie is learning how hard it really is to be a girl. she had to carry a purse and rub a cat all over herself to show that she was a cat lover 144
"cammie?" she met josh but she was not ready and was caught off guard. 146
she is noticing lots of different things about josh, like his eyes, other advice, i bet she looks really nervous. i think that it would have been better to just to be there and find things out, not just sit there and observe him like a test tube. 151
Josh asked if he could call cammie and she turned him down, then the same thing with e-mail. he looked truly disappointed. 151
Cammie said November Nineteenth for no reason, but i think it was the day her dad died 159
Cam is going to trade off notes with Josh in the walls of the stone gazebo 163
Josh asked Cam out on a date to the movies on Friday. 167
josh and cam missed their movie so they went to eat at a diner. they ran into a lot of his friends, and unforgettably DeeDee. DeeDee is the girl who wrote the notes to josh on the pink paper, about the carnival 179
I was right it was her dads birthday that she told josh. she found out only after she found her mother in a secret passage way 223
josh gave her a really pretty pair of earrings after the dance that they went to for a surprise. She had to evacuate very quickly because she found her mom and Mr. Solomon dancing. 202-218
They also found out that Bex's dad is missing and he has not been checking in. they decided not to tell her. i think it was a good decision because they dont want her worry more that they have to. 222
cammie is sneaking off to the pharmacy to go se Josh while wiorking. she has now been offered ice cream. she accepted. :).
Cam hid beside a stand of adult diapers like a coward instead of helping anna. she did not want her cover blown, but she should have helped her. Bex and Macey came to the rescue against dillon and his posers but without cam. 235
Now Liz is incredibly disappointed at her for choosing bros over bows. she looked like she didnt want to know her. 235
she was staking out joshs house when she found herself crying over the fact that she couldnt have the best of both worlds 243
In the book, I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You, Ally Carter has readers ready to jump into the book and be one of the characters. In the beginning it sounds like an ordinary book about girls in a spy school but then things build up on that. The main character and one of the girls that goes to this school is Cammie. As the story goes on a new girl comes, they go on their first missio and so on…, but spy trained girls are prepared for all this. Cammie runs into one issue. It is rare for spy girls to have problems but Cammie’s is love. Cammie meets a boy and she can not tell him she goes to Gallagher Academy so she lies about herself. With having her top secret school life and now a boy life in the town which she has to sneak out to every day too, she is living two different lives. The rest of the plot depends on her decisions about her two lives. At the end things get really hard because she does not pay attention in school and she lies to her boyfriend so she hates being decisive around her friends and family. The fact that a character cannot live two lives simultaneously is the critical restriction that drives the plot.
The book gives lots of examples where Cammie struggles to survive both lives to the fullest. One example is when Liz accuses Cammie of doing things wrong, “‘Yeah,’ Liz called after me. ‘Well I never thought you were someone who’d choose a boy over her friends!’... ‘Well, I never thought I had friends who’d make me choose!’” (239). Cammie starts getting into arguments with her friends because her friends think she is spending too much time in her second life instead of her first. Just like people, characters have trouble living two live too. It is not possible to be in two places at once while staying true to the real you.
In addition, Cammie is almost not even Cammie in her second life. She lies so much to Josh that she is not herself and Josh does not know anything that is true about her even her real birthday date. When Josh decides to give her a present Cammie thinks, “ As I inched through the secret passageways, my thoughts seemed to echo in the narrow space: But it isn’t my birthday”(216). Since Cammie never told Josh the truth about herself she made up a birthday for herself that she told Josh. Cammie is very annoyed about this because she knew it wasn’t right to accept the earring that Josh gave her. She couldn’t give them back because that would break her cover. This being in the front of her mind, she struggled in her first life as well as her second which made it even more difficult to survive both lifes. Just like a real person can not do so, Cammie is also struggling living both lives and everyone being happy. If a person would be in the same situation as Cammie they would not have made any better decisions. Therefore the plot of the book depended on the how Cammie survived in both lives.
Cam broke up with Josh because he found out that she was a Gallagher girl. 254
Cammie was kidnapped and now she has gotten out and is running to find the other girls and the disk. 260
Cammie and the other girls are too heavy to be lowered into the building where the package is surrounded by teachers. Anna Fetterman had volunteered which was surprising. 263
josh came back and she madew sure he understood that they could never see each other again. 265
It appears that Cammie is lying to everyone else but, in fact, she is really lying to herself.
In Ally Carter’s, I’d Tell You I Love You But Then I’d Have To Kill You, the main character is Cameron Morgan. Cammie is a super spy that lives at Gallagher Academy, a school for Exceptional Young women, (run by her mother). However when Cammie finds herself falling for a boy, she is quick to drop her friends and take the long walk into Roseville town.
Cammie is very fond of a townie named Josh, who in fact knows nothing about her. Cam is always lying about little tidbits in her life and sometimes it gets a little bit too personal. Once when Josh is asking her rapid fire questions for which she had no time to think, a piece of her father escapes. Cammie’s dad had never come back from a spying mission, leaving her and her mother on their own. Josh quickly asks, “ ‘ When’s your birthday? ‘ He shot the question at me like a dart . ‘ Um...November nineteenth,’ I blurted for no apparent reason; the date just landed in my head like a stone. (159)”. This quote is a perfect example of how Cam has been lying to everyone and yet she finds it natural. She has taught herself that this is only a mission so it is not worth it to reveal her personal life.
Another instance involving Josh was when Cammie did not tell him the truth about the school she goes to. Cameron tells him that she is home schooled not a studious Gallagher girl. When standing alone Josh asks, “ ‘What . . .are you home schooled or something?’ He asked and I nodded. ‘For what, like, religious reasons?’ ‘ Yes,’ I said thinking that sounded as good as anything. (81)”. Cammie tells too many lies expecting a part of her to grow into a normal girl. She is convincing herself of something that can never come true, and yet it is so realistic that it is believable. However the lies are often told in the Roseville town, Josh is not the only one that she is lying to.
Her mother, a caring but sophisticated headmistress, is also on the receiving end of the blatant lies. She often is told that Cam is helping someone with a project or off in sub level one. On the anniversary of her fathers death, Cameron is too busy worrying about her date with Josh to even realize. when walking down the hallway, “ She looped her arm through mine and said, ‘ I was wondering if you wanted to do something tonight.’ …, ‘ Or not,’ she jumped to say when she saw my bewildered expression. ‘ I thought you might want to go into town or something’.Well, actually, I did want to go into town-just not with her.(190)” Her mother asks Cameron if she is free to do something with her and Cammie lies about helping Liz with her physics project. This is one of many good examples of how Cammie convinces herself that going around with Josh, and lying about it is OK.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
